I got the running bug...

I have ALWAYS wanted to be a runner.  Through the years I have been in good shape and in bad shape, but what brings me back every time is running.  When I moved to LA I had some people that I worked with that would do a 10k/5k every Super Bowl Sunday.  A 10k sounded too far and too hard.  But when I found out that they decided on the 5k that year, I signed up with them.  Every year since, on Super Bowl Sunday, I put my running shoes on and we all gather to run the Redondo Beach 5k together.

I always have a great time whenever I run races.  The people, the costumes, the cheering, the expos...you name it, I love it.  I don't know why I didn't think about this sooner, but I finally realized that I should just sign up for more races more often!  So that is what I have started doing.  Having races through the year will help me stay motivated and keep my runners high going.

This year I have completed 4 5k's and decided it was time to step up my game and registered for my first half marathon (eek...I know, what was I thinking).  There are so many motivating stories and people out there, I finally thought to myself, "If they can do it, so can I!"  And that is the mentality I have had while training.

I used to blog when I was in college.  I mostly blogged about pop culture and food, two of my favorite things.  Unfortunately one of them got me to the point of needing to run more, and it wasn't my love for the Kardashians.  This is going to be a place where you can share my journey with me, through the good days and the bad ones, perhaps some product reviews, and as always maybe a few recipes.

Thank you for following my journey!
